3-layered construction provides the most stable format for engineered hardwood flooring, when produced with the single species hardwood core layer we use – Hevea Brasiliensis. Hevea shares the same density and strength as White Oak and outperforms plywood or softwood core material. This means that not only can we produce wider, more attractive floor boards, our material has far greater stability under extreme climatic conditions from the sub-zero winters of Scandinavia to the year-round warmth and humidity of South East Asia.
100% of the Hevea used in our flooring is sourced from sustainably managed plantations in Indonesia.
All of our European Oak is sustainably sourced from France or Germany. None of our products use Chinese or Siberian Oak. In addition to Chinese and Siberian Oak’s incompatibility with the hand-crafted techniques we use for many of our products, the legality of origin can be questionable and therefore not aligned with our commitment to quality, sustainability and best practice.
Globally we comply with the TSCA (USA), European Union Timber Regulation (EUTR) and applicable standards for all our other export markets. We also provide Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification for relevant products. In Europe we export Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) licenced material and supply certification with every shipment.
Our products have been tested and certified by international bodies including:
- CE – European Conformity
- VOC “Emissions Dan L’air Interieur” – France
- TSCA Compliant – USA
- SVLK/FLEGT Certified – Indonesia
- FloorScore
- No Formaldehyde
